What is the Axis Mundi?

The axis mundi is an existential place or point wherein creation and entropy, the essential generative and destructive forces of the universe, exist as one within the Great Mystery. The axis mundi is an important concept in many philosophies and religions and it has a unique relationship to shamanism. We can use ancient sexual practices to cultivate our relationship with the energy of the axis mundi which is essential to a strong and deep shamanic practice. The axis mundi is not just a mental concept for the shaman; it is both a practical tool and a spiritual awareness. It is the place through which the shaman travels when journeying in an altered and often ecstatic state. Ecstasy is not the purpose of the shaman's journey, however it is often a valuable by-product.

Before studying shamanism and sound healing, she was a faculty member in the Center for Science Education and the Graduate School of Education at Portland State University. She founded and was Executive Director of Wolftree, a nonprofit dedicated to science education in the outdoors for young people and she wrote grants and served as a consultant for environmental education non-profit organizations.

She teaches shamanic sound healing for Lightsong School of Shamanic Studies and is on the council for the School, serving as mentor, Associate Teacher and Healer. She is a ceremonial singer and sweat lodge water pourer. She is deeply committed to the Earth and the Earth's animals. Clifford Mahooty is a Zuni Elder and member of the New Mexico tribe's Kachina Society. The Kachina Society jealously guards centuries of knowledge of contact between the Zunis with "star beings." Geo-Engineering; Why You Should Care

Dane has a background in solar energy. He is a former employee of Bechtel Power Corp. and was a licensed contractor in California and Arizona. He has been engaged in constant climate/geoengineering research for over a decade.

His personal residence was feature in a cover article on the world’s largest renewable energy magazine, Home Power. He owns a 1,600-acre “wildlife preserve” next to Lake Shasta in N. California.

He began to focus all his efforts and energy on the geoengineering issue when he began to lose very significant amounts of solar uptake due to what ever-increasing “solar obscuration” caused from the aircraft spraying. Dane also noted significant decline in forest health. Extensive testing and research into the geoengineering issue was commenced and has continued since 2002.

He is the lead researcher for www.geoengineeringwatch.org and has investigated all levels of geo engineering from stratospheric aerosol geoengineering (SAG) to HAARP. Shamanism is Not an Excuse to be Crazy

Being shamanic is not a pass card from the responsibility of living a grounded and sane life. Shamanic skills are actually a means by which we can live a sane life in an insane world. Part of our confusion comes from the standard practice of teaching anthropology students that shamans are delusional and quite possibly schizophrenic. Roman is a certified Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) practitioner in Peru. Transforming Communal Shadows

Most of us are aware of the Shadow thanks to the genius of Karl Jung. However knowing and doing are two different things and, let's face it, most of us don't do actual Shadow transformations. We hope it's taken care of in that one weekend workshop or that one year at the men's gathering. Shamanic skills allow us to track the crazy logical twists and turns inherent in good Shadow transformations anywhere any time, explains host and shaman, Christina Pratt. They also allow us to transform these energies into allies, never to return to the shadows again. This is what really matters, because we all participate in communal shadow behavior. We will not be able to write a new story for the new world if we cannot learn to notice and transform our part of the shadow stories that shape our world, holding humanity in "us versus them" thinking around economics and war, food and the environment, and sex and the place we call home.
